ATTENTION parents!!!

Attention parents! Employees of the IDN of the Kopyl District Department of Internal Affairs warn that scammers often recruit minors into their criminal schemes.
Today, scammers call citizens and report that their loved ones are in trouble and need a large amount of money. As a rule, the organizers of such criminal schemes are located abroad, and residents of our country are recruited as couriers to whom the victims transfer money. It is alarming that scammers are recruiting and using minors as couriers. Involvement in criminal schemes occurs through social networks and instant messengers. The main problem with social networks is the trust in those included in the “friends” list. A thoughtless offer of "friendship"
from unknown or little-known people can lead
to dramatic consequences. Obviously, the level of trust in those on the “friends” list will, by definition, always be higher than in random people. On the one hand, this is good, as it forms a loyal audience around a person, but on the other hand, it opens the door to attackers.
Fraudsters assure teenagers that they will earn a large sum of money, but no one will know about this, which means the young people will not bear responsibility. This is categorically false: in this case, minor couriers are liable under the law on an equal basis with other participants in criminal schemes. Prosecution is carried out on the basis of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (fraud) from the age of 16.
Once again, employees of the Kopyl District Department of Internal Affairs remind us of simple rules on how to avoid becoming a victim of a cybercriminal:
1. Keep your card PIN secret.
2. Cover the keyboard with your palm when entering the card PIN code.
3. Do not store the PIN code with the card.
4. Do not share the CVV code or send photo cards to strangers.
5. Do not provide personal data, login and password for access to the Internet banking system.
